Czechoslovakia and Poland postwar. The Anatra DS was built by the Anatra factory in Odessa. The aircraft was armed with a synchronized forward firing machine gun for the pilot and another machine gun for the observer. It was first flown on 7 August 1916[1]. The first orders from the Imperial Russian Air Service were received in 1917 and between 50-60 aircraft were built before the October Revolution. In March 1918, under the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, Odessa was occupied by Austro-Hungarian troops. In May 1918, the Austro-Hungarian government ordered 200 Anatras as the Anatra C.I. Only 114 were completed before the surrender of Austria-Hungary in October 1918.
