The Albatros D.III was a biplane fighter operated by the Luftstreitkräfte and Imperial and Royal Aviation Troops during World War I. It was flown by many German flying aces, including Manfred von Richtofen and Ernst Udet. During the "Bloody April" period of German air superiority over the Western Front in April 1917, the D.III was the predominant German fighter aircraft.
